R.I.P. Xen aka. Mike Leong
Hi Guys,
It's been a number of years since the days of playing Tribes, but I have tragic news for you all. Mid way through last week Mike Leong, known to us all as Xen, was found dead in his flat in Auckland. Xen originally met most of you whilst playing Tribes first as an adversary when he and I played for Malks, then as a founding member of AE, so many years ago. Personally, he was one of my best friends and I feel as though I have lost both a soul mate and brother.
For those who knew Mike, please have a read of the site that I have posted to celebrate Mike and describe how much I will miss him.
http://web.me.com/chris.weeks/Xen/Mike_Leong.html
Please refrain from defacing this thread, Xen was a massive fan of Tribes and played both Tribes 1 and Tribes 2 throughout their most popular times and should be considered a comrade to us all.
I am sorry this is my first contact for so long, to deliver such a terrible message.
Chris, aka [Malks] Mr Green, AE.LewsTherin, |MX3|Mr Green _________________ grrr

Jesus
I started my career in Tribes late (2001...t2) playing at the Hub in Wellington I joined up with the obots and then moved on to an aussie clan, Ohm when I realised that while I loved the local aspect of the wellington tribing crew, obot never took t2 very seriously and the Malks were very shortlived in t2
I remember John (Saladin) from the Malks being very kind and patient with me in letting me know some of the finer points in tribing (I was a total newb) and I met most of you guys (Xen included) at various Hubs in 2001/2002.
While I didn't know Xen very well at all, I remember he was ALWAYS there...all night usually! I remember the fun of hanging at the hub and watching in awe at the skill levels on display... and leeching some great ****
It was a fantastic entry into the world of gaming. This was lanning at such a high level and who can forget the charaters at the Hub (Furrycrew...for gods sake pipe down ). All the Obot and malks guys were alot of fun. (oh and OLO reprezenting NV, and you AE fags )
Sad news..makes the world seem a little less colourful when hearing news like this.
Condolences and respect.
RIP

I think posting his cause of death is unnecessary. When Gnome died, people who didn't even know him were discussing how he died which just upset the people who did know him.
I didn't know Xen, but I played against him. I'm sorry for your loss, greeny.

I Agree about the Gnome issue.
I still remember after that Lan, everyone went back to his place and all watched a dodgy bootleg copy of the first lord of the rings. haha.
good times.

I'm really sorry to hear about that Greenie. I remember Xen.
I think I'd pretty much stopped playing competitively by the time that AE kicked off in T1, so I never had the priviledge of playing in a team with him, but I do remember he was always enjoyable to pub with or against.
Sad news.
